Master of Arts in Health policy and Management (MA HPM)

This is a four semester collaborative program between the Centre for International Health in Bergen University and theSchool of Public Health and Social Sciences at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. The main objective of the programme is to improve quality and equity in health and healthcare for disadvantaged population groups in poor countries through a training programme that focuses on improving policies, health systems organization, funding and management for increasing the effectiveness of health systems and fairness in resource distribution.

 

Entry requirements

  1. Applicants must be holders of a first degree in Medicine, Dental Surgery, Pharmacy, Environmental Health Sciences or Nursing from this university or any other recognized university. For those with classified degrees, they must have passed and obtain at least a lower second-class.
  2. Graduates from other recognized universities with at least an upper-second class in their final examinations in sociology, anthropology, health statistics, demography, biology, food sciences, human nutrition, veterinary sciences, epidemiology, health information sciences and other related fields.

In addition to the first two requirements: Candidates will be required to have at least two years working experience in health or health related intervention work. Candidates who have worked as programme managers or officers or related activities will have an added advantage.
